My technological background runs deep into the depths of late night emails and much child rearing. Growing up DOS in the dinosaur ages keeps me wondering how my children can manage their online time with so much finesse.
Having volunteered endless hours in the classroom, I have always had a passion for sharing my experiences and talents with students from plants to platties, paint to pastel. I have taught preschool through middle school for many years, mostly in the arts, and hope to persue a single subject credential in the sciences, specifically, biology.
Since my technological background has been spartan, I am looking forward to marrying technology with what I create in the classroom. After looking over the syllabus, I thing I will have wonderful tools with which to create lesson plans. I also look forward to creating technology based projects for my students to pursue.

Hello Tammi. For starters, OH MY GOSH I cannot believe that picture of the rats! They are HUGMONGOUS, haha what a random picture. Anyways, I think that is awesome that you have taught so many different grade levels. I am curious what grade you are interested in teaching. I would love to hear your take on the different grade levels. Hope to talk with you sometime over the next 4 weeks.
ReplyDeleteThank god. A fellow ancient from the DOS days. I love the rat picture. I remember when I was a kid in Senegal, my mom sent our dog, a dalmatian, in after a rat in the garage. She came tearing back out chased by a rat larger than she was, even without the tail. I was wondering what grade range you were interested in. Now is a great time for using technology in the classroom. I'm starting to brain overload on the possibilities from just he litttle we have learned so far.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, the mineral is a plate of English Fluorite that I had just dug out in our mine, the Rogerley Mine, in the Weardale Valley in Northern England. They are clearer pictures on the webpage: http://www.ukminingventures.com/.
ReplyDeleteYou can provide a "thicker" description of your background. Two questions for you: (1) your experience is more in preschool to middle school. Why do you want to teach high school? (2) Why did you put the rats picture here?
